My name is Rachel Diakow and I am running the BMO half-marathon as a runner for Hope with the Josh Platzer Society. This organization helps to raise awareness for teen suicide prevention. I have chosen to run for this charity to support my family and friends who have lost their loved ones to suicide. By raising awareness, it is my hope that people will feel more comfortable talking about their experiences with suicide and depression. Creating a supportive environment is so important for those who are suffering. By breaking the silence around suicide, we can help people realize they are not alone. Every person’s life is so valuable and your donation to my run will help this society provide valuable outreach to those who are in need.
